Teleios Systems has partnered with local state owned bank First Citizens Group to allow customers to gain access and control over their accounts via text messages from their mobile phones. Customers can safely and securely manage their accounts anywhere, anytime, from the palm of their hand. The solution makes use of the MessageCentral platform to process SMS commands sent to the bank. Customers can request account information, transaction history and transfer money between accounts.
In partnering with First Citizens to deliver the mobile banking solution, Teleios used its MessageCentral SMS Aggregation Gateway, to route messages across multiple mobile networks. The Gateway also provides support for multiple protocols to SMSCs that do not support SMPP.
Teleios worked alongside First Citizens on this project for several months which included continuous testing ahead of the official service launch on 4th June 2010. Minister of Science, Technology and Tertiary Education, Senator Fazal Karim, was first to be a part of the future of banking by signing up on Friday. Speaking at his office in St James, Karim said: “We are pleased to endorse any agency that enhances banking services. This Ministry embraces the advancement of new technologies in Trinidad and Tobago and I take this opportunity to commend First Citizens for bringing this innovation to the market.” First Citizens CEO Larry Howai said the bank was pleased to add this revolutionary service to its suite of other top-of-the-line electronic banking services and to offer the service to all of its interested customers.
